Ames Pyramid

We traveled up to visit Fixitman's family. Dinoguy was extremely excited to see snow again. On our drive up we checked out this local curiousity in Wyoming, the Ames brothers monument. Roadside America failed to mention the 2 miles off the Freeway weren't paved. Grr. But it was very cool to see, Dinoguy was excited to see a pyramid, though it was hard to explain how much smaller this one is than the Egyptian ones. Anyway, it was a fun small adventure. :)

Did they mention why it was built? Where in Wy is this place (I suppose I could just look it up)? I think the next time we are up that way I am gonna 1.) go in the summertime 2.) find some fossils in my special spot.

It's a monument to the Ames Brothers, used to be on the railroad path so they could tell people about how wonderful they were - and they were instrumental in the railroad building. But they were also crooks. So it was some positive publicity. Visit the link for Roadside America and read that article. :)
