Smoothie lovers

Baby definitely knows what the blender is used for in our house. As soon as he sees it come out, he gets a cup out and starts demanding it be filled! He loves his fruit smoothie. The secret is that they always contain spinach. Actually since the kids help make the smoothies, that isn't really a secret. Maybe the secret is to add blueberries to make them purple instead of green from the spinach.

My general favorite smoothie recipe: 1 banana, 1 big scoop of yogurt, 1 big handful of baby spinach, a bunch of blueberries and other berries or fruit and enough orange juice to make it blend.

The boys both played basketball this winter. Dinoguy's team was called the Jazz and he had 3 friends on the team and a friend's father as the coach, which was pretty fun. He had a lot of fun and improved a lot in his basketball skills.

Trainboy's team was called the Cavaliers. He was amusingl to watch because once he was bored, he started doing random jumps and hops around the court. By the end of the season he was paying attention the whole time he was playing but at the beginning he only made it thru one quarter. The coaches were very patient. His age group really showed the kids who were super into sports and already knew it all compared to the kids who were just trying out a new experience and weren't really sure what was going on. It could have been painful but I chose to laugh about it instead. The thing that upset him the most was that there weren't any treats after the games (no food allowed in the gym).

Trainboy's New Glasses

While visiting family in December, Grandma shared suspicions about Trainboy's eyesight. A visit to the eye doctor confirmed he was slightly nearsighted and now has glasses. So the big thing in January 2012 was Trainboy got glasses! He forgets to wear them all the time and broke his first pair in less than a month. But he is adorable in them.
