Flag Football Sep/Oct 2012

Dinoguy and Trainboy played flag football again this fall. Both had positive experiences with good coaches and getting to be on teams that mostly won. (Last year both of their teams mostly lost.) Serendipitously both received the number 9 jersey. Most of their games were at the same time which meant I spent a bunch of time going between fields to see how they were doing.

He is a head taller than all the other players.

He took directions seriously and stayed where he was put.

Riding the bus September 2012

The kids and I rode the campus bus several times in September from the park and ride lot. It was about a 15 minute ride each way and one method of entertaining the younger ones was taking pictures on the bus.
Little guy made sure to stay in my lap on the bus.

Isn't she adorable?

He wanted to stand and hold the pulleys like the college kids.

Trainboy is working on his schoolwork while riding.

Loves wearing mom's sunglasses

Happier kid

The kids enjoyed spending time on campus visiting the art museum, checking out books with dad at the library and most importantly finding out where to get treats. They know where to get sodas, candy, and leftovers from parties.

First Day of "School" Sep 2012

I decided to take "First Day of School" pictures even though we home school and pretty much did some school work all summer. So we went to a park for lunch and to take pictures at the beginning of September. It was fun even if the pictures weren't the ideal ones I pictured.
Lunch treats were a success

Trainboy got some sunburn at the beach.

How big he is getting!

Baby boy...

Almost 2 here.

He loved the playground

Princess liked having a sign too.

Asking her questions makes her point instead of smile.

Trying for an altogether shot.

Swinging picture was lots of fun at least.

Reveille XIII

Reveille XIII is the official mascot of Texas A&M University. Our family got to meet her and have our photo taken with her at a social event at the very end of August. The irony is that this impromptu snapshot is the best family photo we took in 2012 and I tried several other times.
The boys are holding up their thumbs in the "gig 'em" sign that means they are learning to be good little Aggies.
Dinoguy had this taken on his own before we took one as a family. I think it is a fabulous picture of him.

Galveston Beach August 2012

We finally went and explored Galveston beach as a family at the end of August. It isn't very far away and is a decent day trip. We had a great time!
Both older boys ran into the ocean immediately after getting there.

Baby loved the water. He was always running into it, and then surprised by the saltiness.

There was great sand on the beach for building. It was very different from the SC beaches I am used to though.

We built a bunch of different castles and water pathways.

Dinoguy enjoyed being buried in the sand until a bird landed on his face.

Of course Baby wanted to be buried also after seeing his brother!

I took so many pictures, I hope these few give you a sense of the fun we had. I just have so many lovely memories as a child at the beach in South Carolina. I hope my children also get similar memories of the joy of playing on the beach.
