More swimming, a turtle, and some painting

Thursday found us swimming with my cousin and exploring all her fun games. When we got home, Trainboy was fast asleep and Dinoguy started painting a treasure map for our back yard.





Suddenly Fixitman said "Come quick there's a turtle in our front yard!" And there crawling in our ivy was a turtle! We initially thought it might be an escaped pet, but after asking a neighbor we learned that turtles come through our neighborhood more often than I would have expected. We are about a mile from the river, but apparently we're lucky it wasn't a snapper since we picked it up and those are more common in our neighorhood. Here is Fixitman with his find.

While Fixitman drove the turtle back to the river to save it from eventually walking right into the freeway near our house (where it was headed), Dinoguy got a bit more creative with his painting. But oh what stories he had to tell Trainboy when he finally woke up!
