August 2012 Activities

Baby was interested in toilet training for a few days. Then he wasn't. Oh well.

Chik-Fil-A appreciation day was fun for the kids when they got to eat.

We burned a bunch of stuff as we cut it down and cleared out the scrub around the house.

We managed to get a small bit off the back of hers but not much. It was a bit better though.

Dinoguy was especially happy with his new 'do.

Weather

Current radar view of Hermine

As Tropical Storm Hermine tries to drown us, I think it is a good time to reflect upon the three weeks in August when we had 110 degree weather and NO rain. Hermine is helping make up for that.

Trainboy on the waterslide with a lifeguard who's job is to make sure he doesn't go under. He loved it!

Which do I prefer? Probably the hot weather. It was hot but we ate a lot of popsicles and did a bunch of swimming to stay cool. The rain is fun too - but after several days I'm ready to see the sun again.

Fishing

We spent half of July in South Carolina, preparing for my sister's wedding, enjoying the beach and having fun with family.

Visiting Great Grandma means fishing apparently to my boys because that was the first thing they asked her about when we arrived at her house. They ran out to the canal and checked for water and were ready to fish, though I believe she made them wait until after dinner. We didn't catch anything besides sticks and weeds but the boys still enjoyed it.

Water guns

June really was a lot hotter than July seems to have been.

Water guns are a fun way to cool off. Especially when you are finally big enough to pick them up!

Munchkin enjoyed putting on her helmet and riding the trike while laughing at her brothers.
