Today we went strawberry picking at a pick your own farm with friends. It's berry season! Strawberries are a big favorite in our house . No cute faces in these photos, we were all to intent on getting those yummy berries in our baskets (or tummies mostly in Trainboy's case). The safari hats were what the boys purchased at the gift shop yesterday at the zoo. They love their hats, though it was very windy today and we did chase Trainboy's hat a few times across the field.
Dinoguy was a great strawberry picker helper, and very good about not eating all the ones he picked. (Since we were told not to eat them until paid for - how hard is that for a little boy?)Trainboy just made sure no one saw him, though all the berries in his basket in the picture have little bite marks in them. He eventually got his fill and let me fill the basket with berries to take home. Yum!
We are going to make jam tomorrow, as well as freeze a bunch and dry some for trail mix. I love berry season!

Yummy! I want some! They're still way too expensive at the store here -- we're just too far north.
Looks like fun! Mmmmm strawberry everything!
Love it! Love, love berry picking season. We don't hit that here until June - but cannot wait. I love the little hats - cute idea - and probably helps you track them better. :)
Good luck with your jam. I freeze most of mine for smoothies throughout the year.
